My own inquisitive nature drives me to make places of today that are respectful of the past.”

Places are complicated, and are made up of layers of historic, social and environmental factors. I investigated this during my masters degree at university, looking at how a declining market town could overcome a poor image of terrorism. Building upon existing elements to strengthen the character of the place, I developed a succinct framework that captured its distinct features, and moulded these into the design proposal.

My own inquisitive nature drives me to make places of today that are respectful of the past; it is very important to me that landscape design should promote the intricate stories of places. My holistic approach to landscape design means I can fully visualise how ‘place’ can be achieved, from concept through to detail design.
