Jacinta Ashby

Interior Designer

For me, interior design transcends aesthetics; it's about curating experiences that resonate deeply with individuals on an emotional level. ”

I’m an interior designer originally from Melbourne, Australia, now based in London since 2023. Over the course of my career, I’ve had the privilege of working on a diverse range of projects across hospitality, private residences, and commercial spaces in countries including Japan, the UAE, and the UK.

Since joining Studio Egret West, I’ve contributed to a wide mix of typologies – from large-scale homes in Bratislava and workplace/public-sector projects in Naples, to build-to-rent schemes like Mayfield in Manchester. I also helped lead the redesign of our very own SEW studio – a project especially close to my heart.

As a people person at heart, my greatest inspiration comes from the human connections I’ve built through my international experiences. I find joy and meaning in the simple things – the communal spirit fostered by food, the grounding calm of nature – and I’m endlessly fascinated by how people interact with and find comfort in the spaces around them. It’s this emotional, human-centred connection that continues to fuel my creativity.

Outside of design, I’m an avid bodybuilder who believes in the transformative power of fitness. Starting each day in the gym energises both body and mind, and I’m passionate about empowering others, especially women, to prioritise their health, wellbeing, and strength, smashing stereotypes one lift at a time.

During my studies, I was honoured to receive the COLLARTS Award of Academic Excellence for graduating top of my cohort and was recognised as a finalist for Graduate of the Year.
