I believe in the creative and collaborative design process, recognising that the results are often beyond the sum of their parts.”

“Creation is a patient search” said Le Corbusier in his 1960s autobiography. If there is one mantra that has stuck with me over my career to date, it is this. Not to suggest that the design process is solitary or lonely, but rather that ideas are both fast and slow, and that ideas have to be resilient and flexible to make it from sketch to life.

For almost a decade I have lived in London and worked on both local and international projects. I am drawn to design that balances people and nature, especially in the urban context. Most recently I have had the opportunity to work on large-scale masterplans, which have impressed me with their ambition and optimism, creating the possibility of good growth now and in the future.

I have been lucky enough to be able to work with people who have come together with common goals and diverse backgrounds to strengthen ideas through the design process. We should sketch and sing and come together to the create places we would want to inhabit in the future.
