We were joined by a fantastic lineup of speakers, hosted by Sustainability Lead Heidi Au Yeung:
Joe Gibbs, SEW Interior Architect and author of Circular Materials, kicked off the evening by exploring how the "culture of waste" embedded in our society has translated into the built environment.
Harry Henderson, Architect from our studio, shared his journey of developing the Brew Brick. From collecting waste coffee grounds in Clerkenwell to working with York Handmade Brick Co. to create the bricks showcased at the Brewhouse pavilion.
Alex Perez Escamilla took us to Spain, where 5.2 million tonnes of tomatoes are produced annually - sharing his university proposal of how surplus crops can be harvested to create "Tomato-crete."
Dr Silvie Jacobi brought us back to London with Tipping Point East, demonstrating the physical infrastructure required to enable a truly circular economy.
Missed the Brewhouse pavilion at CDW? It’s moving to Tipping Point East for its next chapter! Stay tuned for updates.
A huge thank you to our speakers and everyone who joined - let's keep the conversation going!
