The proposals for New Bermondsey will transform an underused industrial area into a neighbourhood with 3,500 new homes, a new Overground station and sports facilities for the community, plus the creation of up to 1,250 new jobs on completion. As well as delivering much needed new homes for the London Borough of Lewisham, the scheme will also enable Millwall FC to bring forward their own vision for the land surrounding the football stadium in the future.
Our client, Renewal, the developer of the site, owns the vast majority of the developable land and has spent the past sixteen years assembling the site and developing a vision and strategy for this scheme.
Together, our proposals take into careful consideration the industrial heritage and unique character of the area, and include:
- Much needed new homes including affordable homes
- Opening up the site and providing new public realm
- Improved connections and a new station
- A new state-of-the-art indoor sports complex for Lewisham and south London
- A thriving local economy and new job opportunities
