Ella Oakley

Studio Coordinator

I support creativity, culture, and organisation across the studio ”

I oversee the day-to-day operations of the studio, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently. My responsibilities include supporting the Directors and HR Manager with calendar management and key administrative processes, while also curating the studio atmosphere as the resident DJ! My colleagues often describe me as the ‘glue’ that holds everything together.

I coordinate studio events, exhibitions, travel bookings, and our annual overseas Studio Trip - our 2025 trip to Copenhagen was a particular highlight. My role is highly multi-faceted, and I take pride in being a versatile and proactive member of the team, helping to maintain a well-organised studio environment that supports creativity, collaboration, and inspiration. I also organise the studio’s Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programme and Lunch+Learn sessions.

In addition, I support the studio’s Sustainability Team by helping to implement more environmentally conscious practices across operations. This includes improving purchasing processes and introducing more responsible waste management systems, helping drive meaningful change aligned with our sustainability goals.

My background includes a BA in Fine Art and a Master’s in Arts and Project Management, which has shaped my experience working across exhibition spaces and creative organisations. These skills are highly transferable as I continue to explore the architecture, landscape, and urban design sectors.

SEW has an infectious energy, and I enjoy learning from and collaborating with such a talented group of creatives. As part of the SEW Social Steering Group, I help foster a vibrant studio culture by organising activities that bring colleagues together through sports, music, food, and social events.

Beyond the studio, I pursue my artistic interests by visiting galleries and exhibitions, and I also enjoy knitting, reworking clothes, and thrifting.
