Last night we celebrated our 21st birthday with our clients, collaborators, and friends.
When David West and Christophe Egret founded the studio in 2004, Building Design described them as “the odd couple” - a 50/50 fusion of specific architecture and strategic urban design was something surprisingly rare at the time.
Since then, Studio Egret West has grown into an extraordinary collective of designers united by a shared ambition: to craft places and spaces with strong narratives; to go beyond the generic; to embrace idiosyncrasies and imperfections; to weave the everyday together with unexpected moments of surprise and delight.
That’s the magic. That’s what sets us apart. We’ve evolved from an “odd couple” into a wonderfully “odd crew,” still choosing the less-trodden path whenever we can, because it’s worth it.
Thank you to all the remarkable clients, colleagues and communities with whom we have worked over 21 years of inspiring collaboration, collectively Shaping Everyday Wonder. It’s extraordinary to reflect on what we’ve achieved so far, and even more exciting to imagine what lies ahead.
