Our proposal for the “From Dreams to Rail-ity” Ideas Competition, organised by Singapore’s Urban Redevelopment Authority, draws inspiration from the plumes of steam trains that once plied the historic tracks.

Our proposal, among 93 global entries, aims to transform the historic Tanjong Pagar Railway Station (TPRS) into Singapore's premier arts and culture destination at the gateway to the Rail Corridor.

Our vision for the TPRS blends the historic Art Deco architecture with vibrant new spaces, including studios, galleries, and a pedestrianised forecourt featuring a Garden Food Centre and Sculpture Garden. We’ve applied a sensitive approach to honour the building’s National Monument status while modernising it with contemporary gallery spaces and rooftop pavilions.

New ‘Maker Galleries’ will support local artists, and mist-shrouded gardens will provide cooling respite. Our proposal also includes Singapore's first open-water swimming pond, enhancing the TPRS's role as a landmark for the Greater Southern Waterfront.

Congratulations to the competition winners: Kenneth Chiang (Singapore), PTW Architects (USA), and ACME (UK). We’re thrilled to have contributed to this exciting competition.
