Bow Common is being reimagined from its industrial past into a sociable, sustainable and playful neighbourhood for East London.
Phase 3 will deliver the next phase of the public park alongside 364 new homes across two residential buildings and a generous podium garden for residents. At ground level, flexible commercial and community uses will activate Knapp Road, alongside the creation of nearly 2,500 sqm of new public open space.
At the heart of this phase are spaces designed to bring people together. A new Amphitheatre Pavilion forms a community focal point, offering a place for gathering, performance and everyday moments of neighbourhood life. Surrounding this, generous child play spaces reinforce Bow Common as a place designed with play in mind.
An elegant bridge links Phase 3 to the terraced park being delivered in Phase 2, extending the reach of the public landscape and strengthening connections across the site. Together, these spaces create new sightlines, moments of pause and opportunities to reconnect with nature.
In granting approval, Tower Hamlets praised the high design quality of the proposals. Architecture and landscape blend to create moments of delight, with buildings rooted in their East London context and articulated through rich detailing, pattern and crafted materiality.
Bow Common will ultimately deliver a diverse mix of homes set within a generous network of parks and public spaces. With each phase, the vision for this new neighbourhood moves closer to reality.
