Proposals include:
- Restoration of the Grade II listed Railway Hotel (‘Heritage at Risk’ register)
- 523 new homes
- 244 co-living apartments
- 1,200sqm commercial floorspace
- 6,500sqm publicly accessibly open space, including a new linear park
At the heart of the masterplan, the restoration of the Railway Hotel will secure the long-term future of a much-loved local landmark that has stood vacant for almost two decades.
The building will be brought back into active public use, with a pub and restaurant at ground level and a cultural venue and flexible workspace on the upper floors. By reinstating its historic use as a public house, the proposals will also deliver the only functioning pub in Edgware town centre, re-establishing the Railway Hotel as a focal point for the local community.
