We have now submitted the hybrid planning application for this mixed-use scheme that is set to bolster Salford's thriving visitor economy and deliver much-needed new homes in a sustainable and accessible location.

Working for clients Frogmore and Royalton, as well as with two other architectural practices – Studio Partington and Carey Jones Chapman Tolcher, the proposals consist of up to 1495 homes, two hotels, a multi-storey carpark with a rooftop playground, bars and restaurants and a destination harbour baths.

In addition to co-ordinating the overarching place framework for Cotton Quay, we are also undertaking the detailed design of a 414 space multi-storey car park with roof top play space and a harbour baths, and designing to outline the tallest elements at the end of the site. This latter cluster of three slim profile, stepping buildings; two residential buildings - 48 storey and 37 storeys - could provide up to 500 homes and a 25 storey hotel providing circa 250 rooms, conference facility, bars and restaurants. As the detailed landscape architect for the site, we’re creating the public realm in line with the placemaking principles, connecting to the waterfront and enhancing the site through key character areas.
