BIM Technician
We are looking for a BIM Technician to join our team in London
About
Studio Egret West is an award-winning multidisciplinary practice of 80 architects, urban designers, landscape architects, graphic designers, model makers and filmmakers working on a range of mixed use, place-making projects.
Reporting to the BIM Lead, the BIM Technician will be assisting with setting up and managing a studio-wide library and family creation. We also envisage the new BIM Technician taking on a complex project on BIM Level 2 in the future.

BIM Tasks:
- Owning, auditing and expanding the studio Revit library
- Creating new custom Revit families for projects
- Assisting architects and designers with asset creation
- Help developing new workflows and related guidelines
- Providing one to one mentoring on best practice workflows
- Collaborating with BIM lead on project strategies and model setup
- Auditing and troubleshooting Revit models
Project Tasks:
- Work on project packages in Revit
- Develop Revit content as needed for planning application documents, tender or construction stages
Required
Degree in a relevant subject such as architectural technology, architecture, construction or BIM technician.
Strong understanding of building codes and industry standards
Excellent knowledge of Autodesk Revit for architecture
Excellent family creation, auditing and editing skills
Excellent understanding of parametric modelling (parameter types and use, schedules, etc)
Ability to create complex assets using a simple approach
Ability to coach others on family creation / editing process
Good knowledge of ISO19650 standard and documentation (BEP, EIR, AIR, etc)
Good knowledge and previous experience working with Cobie data sets
Good knowledge and previous experience in clash detection workflows
Good knowledge of AutoCAD, Navisworks and any other clash detection / Cobie software
Beneficial
Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
Good knowledge of Rhinoceros 3D
Good knowledge of scripting plugins such as Dynamo, Grasshopper and Python
Experience in BIM 360 environment
Experience with visualisation plugins such as Enscape or Twinmotion
Experience with other Autodesk software
Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign
