Studio Egret West delivered the design and construction of Mayfield Park. Our vision for Mayfield was to create a world-class, socially inclusive, and commercially vibrant new neighbourhood, anchored by the park and leveraging existing assets such as the Mayfield Depot and the River Medlock. We transformed a previously derelict area of the city into a 6.5-acre park - the first new city-centre park in Manchester in over 100 years. The Park combines biodiverse ecological areas for wildlife with recreational spaces for visitors, all inspired by the site’s rich industrial heritage.
Since its inception, Mayfield Park has had a significant positive impact on the area, human well-being, and Manchester as a whole. It has exceeded expectations, proving the importance of urban regeneration that balances environmental sustainability, economic productivity, and social inclusivity.
According to RealWorth’s analyses, the social value goals set in 2016 have already been surpassed.
