Juliette Valat

With a background in architecture and many years’ experience in public realm design and landscape-led masterplanning, I contribute to both early-stage visions and landscape project development and delivery.

Prior to joining Studio Egret West, I was a Lead Designer at the international nature-based design studio SLA, in Copenhagen, where I worked for public and private clients across Canada, China, Denmark, France, the UAE, and the UK. Working across different contexts - climates, ecologies, and planning cultures - has shaped how I approach complex sites and global challenges such as climate adaptation.

I’m passionate about urban regeneration projects, for the opportunity they offer to celebrate the identity of a place and to reconnect isolated communities and fragmented ecological corridors. I joined the Climate Change Response Steering Group and believe equitable access to nature to be a central part of a resilient, socially driven design approach.
