Working as the lead architect and landscape designer for the Civic Centre transformation alongside Rural Office, Studio Egret West is also helping to shape the masterplan for “City Waterfront,” a new district with 600 new homes and circa 150,000sqft of commercial space, a tidal lido, aquarium and a hotel, that connects the city centre directly to the beach with improved access and beach facilities. Y Dddinas ar y Traeth or “The City on the Beach” project centres on the retro-fitting of the1982 brutallist Civic Centre building, providing new homes, f&b and cultural uses to animate the beach frontage.
We are also developing the spatial framework for Hafod Copperworks. This plan integrates heritage buildings with new commercial and residential opportunities, supported by Levelling Up funding and existing attractions like the Penderyn Distillery.
This 20-year partnership is a collaborative effort. We are working alongside a talented team of designers, including Rural Office, ShedKM, AHMM, FCBS, Loyn+Co, and Grant Associates, to deliver a long-term vision for Swansea’s growth and wellbeing.
