BIM coordinator


Studio Egret West is seeking an experienced BIM coordinator who is passionate about BIM and emerging digital technologies to join its team in London.

Studio Egret West is a multidisciplinary practice of 63 architects, urban designers, landscape architects, graphic designers, model makers as well as CGI artists and filmmakers working on a range of mixed-use, place-making projects.

This is a key role to coordinate studio-wide project strategy and mentor colleagues in line with Studio Egret West’s BIM workflow. Working closely with the directors, BIM strategist, BIM advisor, and IT manager, the BIM coordinator is responsible for promoting the implementation of Revit and associated design technology-related methods within the studio, supporting studio-wide technical upskilling, training and mentoring of colleagues, maintaining and enhancing our studio BIM resources, and researching into upcoming digital workflows and design technology.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience within the architectural industry as well as apt BIM and communication skills. The role will split its time between general studio wide BIM support and strategic project BIM support.



  • advanced in Revit
  • proficiency in Excel

  • experience using Dynamo for Revit
  • experience using 2D Microstation

  • experience using VuCity
  • experience using Clash Detection Methods
  • experience using Autodesk BIM 360

Communication and coordination:

  • ability to work effectively in teams
  • good interpersonal skills and able to build relationships at all levels, internally and externally
  • ability to train and mentor small to medium-sized groups in Revit software workflow
  • encouraging best practice adoption, but conscious of divergent pressures with a clear sight of the ‘bigger picture’
  • taking a logical approach and enable teams to manage information effectively and efficiently within a Revit project and its associated technologies and workflows
  • have a passion for architecture and design and the wider implications of BIM for the construction industry
  • contribute to an effective resolution of workflow issues within complex BIM projects
  • contribute to BID writing in regards to the studio’s BIM processes and experience
  • ability to multi-task effectively and efficiently, prioritising key tasks

  • architecture or similar degree
  • minimum one year’s working experience as a BIM Coordinator
  • management and monitoring of all aspects in large-scale complex BIM projects
  • experience in training and mentoring both one-on-one and group workshops
  • experience delivering projects using Revit across all RIBA work stages
  • working on Revit models for BIM Level 1 and BIM Level 2, including knowledge of the latest BIM Level 2 compliance standards and publically supported protocols
  • advising on the relevant levels of model and data detail, clash detection, data conversion, and model co-ordination appropriate for a project specific BIM execution plan
  • experience in model auditing and clash detection simulations
  • coordinating Revit models for mixed-use projects in the UK that were submitting for outline and/or detail planning submission at both architectural building scale and urban design scale
  • coordinating Revit models with excel area schedules
  • coordinating to company document naming standards
  • experience in the design of multi-dwelling residential, commercial workspace, plot scale massing, and landscape topography and features


  • co-author with the BIM strategist the quarterly BIM progress tracker and BIM strategy roadmap for practice management meetings
  • co-lead with the BIM Strategist the quarterly BIM forum meetings with the studio’s BIM power-users
  • audit studio-wide training progress and training needs and advise the BIM Strategist were additional training is required generally and specifically across colleagues
  • co-author with the BIM strategist the annual Revit training curriculum for a suite of various in-house multi-disciplinary (architecture, urban design, landscape architecture) training sessions for new hire, beginner, intermediate, leaders, manager, and director levels
  • lead the training of small to medium sized groups of colleagues through the new hire, beginner, intermediate, and leader level curriculums
  • maintain and improve the studio’s BIM toolkit, including Revit BIM Execution plans, templates, manuals and libraries (families, materials, key scripts)
  • liaise with the BIM strategist and BIM advisor on complex training or scripts required by the studio
  • liaise with the BIM Strategist on digital workflow improvement goals and research emerging technologies (i.e. representation/visualisation, sustainability, generative design, planning and property tech, consultation tech) that could enhance the studio’s approach to design and respond to developments within the industry
  • liaise with the business development and marketing manager on BID writing in regards to the studio’s BIM processes and experience
  • liaise with the IT Manager on server, software, or hardware requirements needed to facilitate training or BIM workflow adoption and studio wide naming conventions
  • attend a quarterly BIM forum hosted by our insurers
  • support BIM project set-up studio-wide alongside a group of power-users trained to undertaken BIM project set-up
  • support BIM project audits studio-wide alongside a group of power-users trained to undertaken BIM project audit
  • liaise with the project architects and advise project teams on BIM project workflows as they deliver coordinated models, data, report and other related project documents
  • advise and train on techniques or workflow for complex project specific BIM needs (i.e. family creation, advanced modelling, advanced visualisation, BIM execution plan review)
