Studio Egret West is seeking a business development and marketing manager to join its team in London.

This is an opportunity to join our high-profile practice at a senior level to shape and implement our marketing and business development strategy.

About

Studio Egret West is a multidisciplinary practice of circa 70 architects, urban designers, landscape architects, graphic designers, model makers as well as CGI artists and filmmakers working on a range of mixed-use, place-making projects.

We are looking for a business development and marketing manager to join the Studio Egret West team on a permanent full-time contract.

Working closely with the directors, the successful candidate will be responsible for seeking out and supporting new business opportunities. This will include managing the production of our tender submissions as well as more holistic marketing and client management duties. We are looking for the right personality to fit into the SEW family and will tailor the role to suit the successful candidate with a support team to suit, including graphic design, professional input, studio management all feeding into and supporting the role.

Candidates must have experience within the architectural or development industry with at least two years’ of working experience in a similar role.

General key responsibilities

Business development:

  • ownership of the bid and tender process from start to finish, undertaking the preparation of all documentation, and working closely with the senior team to produce highly competitive, concise and compelling responses to public and private sector bids and RFPs
  • seeking out, receiving, assessing and evaluating bid notices and new business opportunities, making appropriate recommendations in liaison with the directors
  • writing copy for proposals, and compiling and presenting information into comprehensive documents with a strong and graphic presence
  • tracking bids, monitoring submission deadlines and following up where required
  • providing regular feedback on any successes/weaknesses and identifying/advising on areas of improvement that can be made for future bids/practice protocols
  • coordinating production of fee proposals and portfolios in relation to new business leads, keeping an up to date centralised database of documents, and setting up meetings with key contacts as required
  • maintaining company bid literature, including all staff CVs and the bid information library
  • copywriting for bids and other practice literature including the SEW website

Marketing and communications:

  • client management, including strategic thinking around growing SEW’s client base
  • identifying opportunities for promotion of SEW values as talks, conferences and events
  • collaborating on the content for the Studio Showroom, exhibitions and associated events
  • working with the thought leadership team to create an annual marketing programme
  • social media management
  • website management
  • developing, driving and implementing all press releases, collating project information, and liaising with various consultants, as required

Preferred skills and experience:

  • proven experience of working within architecture or the development industry
  • excellent organisational skills

  • ability to multi-task effectively and efficiently, prioritising key tasks
  • excellent literacy, writing and editing skills
  • strong content generation skills with a keen eye for detail (including proofreading, quality checking, imagery and design)
  • ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
  • ability to coordinate people effectively and efficiently
  • reliable, hard-working, and flexible
