Lukas Novotny

Graphic Designer

Navigating the intricate waters of design, we are nimble and responsive, steering towards success even when the winds of change blow.”

I am originally from Prague, where I studied civil engineering and architecture. After relocating to London, I had a diversity of memorable working experiences – including an 8-year stint managing London’s only lighthouse at Trinity Buoy Wharf. I also freelanced as a graphic designer, with my standout projects encompassing the design and construction of stage-sets for Django Django, art direction and illustration of murals for London’s Aloft Hotel, and the development of wayfinding systems for Copenhagen’s Steel House.

My role at Studio Egret West feels like being part of a graphic-design elite task force specialising in place branding and wayfinding. Operating with agility, we excel in navigating complex briefs and swiftly adapting to changing circumstances. Our team also benefits from ready access of the incredibly diverse, multidisciplinary skill-pool of the wider studio.

In my spare time, I am an author and illustrator. My latest book ‘Modern New York’ was published by the renowned publishing house Rizzoli. My previous book 'Modern London' was shortlisted for the British Book Design & Production Awards in 2019.
